Biomaxima SA was listed in the prestigious FT 1000: Europe's Fastest Growing Companies ranking, listing 1000 companies from all over Europe that achieved the highest compound annual growth rate in revenue between 2018 and 2021. BioMaxima SA was included in the ranking in the "Health Care & Life Sciences" category for the first time.

The new BioMaxima production plant will accommodate the production of antibiotic susceptibility testing systems (AST), extra production capacity for rapid immunochromatographic tests, supplements for microbiology media, and reagents for molecular diagnostics. An important element of capacity expansion encompassed by the new investment will be a significant expansion of the segment of microbiology media and disc diffusion systems for drug susceptibility testing on the premises of the existing plant.

We are pleased to announce that the SARS-CoV-2 Real Time PCR LAB-KIT PCR genetic test effectively identifies four new variants of the SARS-CoV-2 virus mutation, including:

SARS-CoV-2 VUI 202012/01 mutation variant detected in Great Britain,
501Y.V2 (South Africa) South African variant
Cluster 5 variant (North Jutland, Denmark) Danish variant
Mutation at the 5-end of the N gene

BioMaxima SA has recently carried out large-scale in silico and in vivo studies of its own and independent. The in silico results have already confirmed the 100% effectiveness of our genetic test in identifying new mutation variants in the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus genome. No problems were found in the detection of genetic material of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. This indicates a very well-developed primer sequences for ORF1ab and N genes. We have once again confirmed that the SARS-CoV-2 Real Time PCR LAB-KIT genetic test is a very sensitive and appropriate tool in the hands of laboratory diagnosticians, thanks to which the results are certain and not raise doubts.

We are pleased to announce that a new product has appeared in the BioMaxima S. A. commercial offer.

VTM - VIRAL TRANSPORT MEDIUM

VTM is a medium prepared both in bottles and test tubes, for use to transportand storesamples containing viruses. The product is intended for professional use by research and diagnostic laboratories. It can be used to transport viruses, including: Coronaviridae, Orthomyxoviridae, Picornaviridae, Herpesviridae, Filoviridae, human and animal tissues as well as chlamydia. Owing to the special formula of the medium, viruses, including SARS-Cov-2, can be safely transported and stored in it, while maintaining their diagnostic and physiological characteristics. The antibiotics gentamicin and amphotericin B contained in the medium inhibit the growth of accompanying microflora. Hanks' salts and heat-inactivated calf serum stabilize the sample, enabling it to be stored for several hours to several days depending on the type of sample, virus species or storage parameters. The product is recommended by WHO and CDC – and it has been prepared in accordance with WHO recommended procedure as a tool for the transport of swabs from nasopharynx, pharynx, nasal mucosa, and also sputum or tracheal aspirates or BAL (bronchoalveolar lavage), biopsy or autopsy tissues, including from the lungs. The BioMaxima’s VTM, has been prepared in plastic tubes with safely sealed stoppers to prevent leakage. Thanks to a special technology, the test tubes are much more resistant to crushing and breaking (ensuring easy and safe transport). They can also be conveniently stored and labeled.
